Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for example: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
