Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator an efficient and safe place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major study of operators' working conditions. The main goal is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is gently rounded and extremely comfortable. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential information, in order to keep the operator working as efficiently as he or she could.
Thanks to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all independently adjustable as a way to maintain an optimum working position. Moreover, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and simple to operate levers that are provided for the window washers, horn, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
A ventilation/heating unit guarantees a comfortable cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, cooling and heating. As an extra option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all accessible. The standard instruments which comprise: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Furthermore, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, gearbox oil pressure and engine coolant.
The ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring is amongst the key options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These units make it easier to supervise the equipment. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any faults which happen and their current values.
