Forklift Tires
When it comes to types of installation, there are two kinds regarding forklift tires: press on and standard. Normally, press on tires are used on electric forklifts and those models utilized indoors like for instance warehouses. The press on tires may also be utilized in light industrial operation too.

Standard tires are mostly used on forklifts that operate in outdoor settings or where rough or uneven surfaces require tougher tires and more traction.

As there are a lot of different kinds of forklifts, there are also lots of different kinds of forklift tires. The kinds of tires that are most commonly used are polyurethane, pneumatic and solid. The kind of tires are dictated by what and where the forklift is utilized for. It is crucial to get the right tires for the task and making certain that the proper choice would have a huge impact on both performance and safety.

It is suitable to use pneumatic tires on outdoor forklifts which operate in an all-terrain environment like on construction sites. These are made of durable rubber and then filled with air, like a tractor or truck tire. Pneumatic tires create an air cushion between the terrain and the forklift itself. This particular design significantly lessens the wear and tear on the machine and creates a very comfortable ride for the operator. The deep, thick treads on the tires provide the necessary traction required for use on rough and uneven surfaces.

For light industrial applications, both indoors and outdoors, solid tires are best. They are fabricated out of constructed solid, tough rubber. This helps them to stay safer from blowouts, popping like pneumatic tires or damage due to puncture wounds. As these tires are not filled with air, they could not provide the cushion effect. This fact makes them not suitable for use on rough terrain. Several solid tires are made with holes in the sidewalls to provide a fairly softer ride. The only issue is that this type of construction makes the forklift's load carrying capacity less.

The polyurethane forklift tires will normally outlast both of the rubber tire designs but are intended for indoor warehouse applications only. The load capacity of polyurethane is a lot higher compared to a rubber tire. These tires work great with well with electric forklifts because of the added weight of the batteries of the machine. Due to the tire's lower rolling resistance, another advantage of this particular type of tire is the longer battery life.
