Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places orderly and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck comes in several kinds: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide under the pallet and move it to the correct storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are just one pallet in depth.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular model has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not only slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in many directions. This particular model is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Usually more than one type of reach truck is needed in warehouses. Textile companies and manufacturing facilities use different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could maximize available storage space while increasing production.
