Doosan Lifts Trucks Ohio

Since Doosan Infracore began producing diesel engines in 1958, the company has continued to manufacture its R&D capacities to stay at the forefront of the business within Korea. In 1975, Doosan began mass producing diesel engines at its first large-scale plant. In ten years the company's production technology had progressed to the point that producing its very own diesel engine model was possible. Doosan's leadership position in the business was secured. In the year 1995 the company made its very first low-emission diesel engine, followed by commercial vehicle CNG engines after three years. Ever since 2000, the company has developed technology for Tier 3-compliant engines, low-pressure natural gas engines and sophisticated common-rail engines. In order to follow strict Euro emission control standards, the company developed a low-emission, heavy-duty diesel engine model during the year 2007.

Doosan has numerous facilities throughout the globe that help produce 60 different types of engines, as well as materials and parts. Products comprise natural gas engines and diesel engines for trucks, forklifts, buses, construction machinery, ships, generators and more. Engines vary from 70 to 1,500 horse power. Yearly output is now 75,000 units.

Doosan still puts great emphasis on its R&D capabilities that focus on increasing output and expanding into more markets. Demand for more stringent policies governing engine emissions has led the company to build a compressed natural gas engine factory within the United States in 2008, and a joint project plant in Xuzhou, China. The plant in China could produce 50,000 diesel engines per year, with production scheduled to start in 2011.
